*In general, we will be able to get your domain for you. However, in the event that it is not available, we will help you find a suitable replacement.
I'm just starting to write, do I need a website?
The answer is...maybe.
It takes Google anywhere between 6 months to a year to truly index your site. This means that, if you start a website today, it will be very hard to find on search engines tomorrow, or even next month. My advice is to start a website between six months and a year before you're ready to take your writing to the next level.
Do I have to have my own domain/hosting?
We offer an optional service for offering hosting and domains to help provide the easiest possible solution for a website to those who know nothing about web design, or would rather someone else do it! You'll see this during checkout, so make sure to add that to your cart.
You'll be able to choose from either reoccurring 3-month or once a year payments which are calculated based on the current rate of hosting and domains, so it may change over time.*

Which package is right for me?
For most writers just starting out who are looking for a place to call home online, the Standard package is enough. It gets you up and running, displays your book(s), and allows people to get to know you a bit better.
But, if you're thinking about blogging, either now or sometime in the future, and want to make your website a more enjoyable, interactive place for your visitors, the Premium package is a much better place to start.
And finally, if you want the premium package, but already have a good idea of how to navigate around Wordpress, the DIY package is a great choice.
What are the benefits of having a blog?
There are two main benefits to having a blog that is important for writers.
- It's a place for you to connect with your visitors/fans in a way that you can't otherwise. You can talk about your writing process, use it for more personal posts about your life, or just use it as a "bonus" section to give your fans a bit extra. It can potentially transform a casual reader to a true fan.
- On a more technical level, it helps you rank on google and gets your website indexed faster. Because a blog is moving content, search engines like Google pick it up much faster, assuming you're posting often enough, and helps your website appear higher up on the Google search.
I still can't decide which package to choose!
That's okay! Purchase the Standard package now and if you want to upgrade within the first 3 months, you'll just pay the difference! If it's after the first 3 months, you'll still be able to upgrade, but it will cost a bit more.
How long will it take before my website is ready?
This depends on a few things, but mostly on how quickly you complete the Work Form you receive after purchase.
Once you have purchased your package and completed the onboarding survey I mentioned above, you will receive an email from us with a timeframe, but in general, it will take between 1-2 weeks after starting to complete for the Standard package, and slightly longer for the Premium package.
